Resident Evil: Degeneration CG Feature Film Debuts

Fans of the Resident Evil video game series and live action feature films will be glad to hear that Sony Pictures and CAPCOM have released an all-new CG-animated film called Resident Evil: Degeneration. The film will make its worldwide theatrical debut on October 18th in Japan and in LA on November 18th.
The film is set seven years after the destruction of Raccoon City with Leon and Claire back to fight zombies. The virus finds its way to an airport in the heart land of America where zombies again start to roam. Read more

Dead Space Goes Gold

One of the most anticipated survival horror games since Doom 3 has officially gone gold. EA has announced that Dead Space has hit the golden point and will ship on October 14th for Xbox 360 and PS3. PC gamers will have to wait a few more days for shipment on October 20th.
Xbox 360 owners can also get a very limited edition run of 1,000 Dead Space Ultra Limited Edition sets with an animated movie, bonus content, 97-page art book, 160-page graphic novel and a signed lithograph for $149. Buyers who get the game in the first 2 weeks for Xbox and PS3 will get a platform exclusive suit (PS3 suit pictured). Read more

3rd Space Announces Support for WoW

TN Games has announced a new driver for its 3rd Space vest that supports World of Warcraft. WoW is one of the most popular games on the PC and the addition of the virtual reality 3rd Space vest should make WoW players excited.
Now when that Rouge tries to stealth kill you from behind you will feel it (in a good way). WoW may well be the driver update that MMORPG gamers have waited for to jump on the vest bandwagon. Read more

Nintendo DSi Promotion Video shows what is coming

As reported Nintendo announced a new DS today with the Nintendo DSi. The Nintendo DSi will launch in Japan on November 1st and in other countries in 2009. That is why all the marketing material for the Nintendo DSi is in Japanese at the moment.
Nintendo published a promotion video for the DSi that shows the new version in action and highlights upcoming DSi titles. One mystery accessory (see screen grab on the right) is also shown in this video). The DSi accessory looks like a remote control.

Nintendo DSi unveiled

The rumors became true today and Nintendo announced a new Nintendo DS portable game console dubbed Nintendo DSi.
The Nintendo DSi features a larger 3.25 inch LCD display and as far as I can see, two integrated cameras. There is one on the inside for self portraits and one on the outside cover. Nintendo has now integrated a music player in the Nintendo DSi that plays tracks from SD cards.
The measurements of the DSi are slightly thinner than the DS Lite with a thickness of 18.9mm.

Xbox Live Down because of posting TrueSkill Statistics on Halo 3

Following the downtime of Xbox Live yesterday, some Xbox 360 users are experiencing connection issues right now because Microsoft is posting TrueSkill statistics on Halo 3.
The Xbox support page calls the issues intermittent. Update: Looks like the issue just got more severe as Microsoft updated the support page with: "Users will not be able to connect or log into Xbox LIVE. We are aware of the problem and working to resolve the issue." Update: Xbox LIVE supposedly up again, but still some issues might still occur.
We see quite some hits on our Xbox Live Down stories indicating that currently lots of Xbox users cannot connect to Xbox Live.

Wii now available at Marriott and Renaissance Hotels

Marriott and Renaissance hotel guests can now play the Wii during their stay. Guests can choose from 20 games, including Mario Kart Wii, Super Mario Galaxy, and Wii Sports as well as Wii Fit. Playing the Wii is far better than watching CNN and Wolf Blitzer in the Situation room all day.
Marriott International, Inc. is piloting a new specially built Wii hotel game system from Nintendo in select guest rooms and lounges. Wii systems are available at six Marriott and Renaissance properties including New York Marriott Marquis, Renaissance New York Hotel Times Square, Boston Marriott Cambridge, Bethesda Marriott Suites, Annapolis Marriott Waterfront, and JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa in Phoenix (Lounge only).

Xbox LIVE Down, No New Updates Coming [Update]

Right now Xbox LIVE is down as Microsoft gears up to bring us a new Xbox Live Experience. Xbox LIVE will be down for 24 hours , which started at 12:01 AM today. The service will come back up at 11:59 PM PST.
The downtime for Xbox LIVE will affect the My Xbox section as well and the Xbox forums will be read only mode. The bad part about this outage is that according to Major Nelson when Xbox LIVE comes back up there will be no new features available. Read more

Hilton Garden Inn Trains Employees with PSP

Hilton Garden Inn has announced that it is using the Sony PSP to train employees on how to meet customer needs and keep them happy. The PSP training game is called Ultimate Team Play and was created by a firm called Virtual Heroes.
The goal of the training game is to show team members at Hilton how their actions can impact the hotel and the guests moods. The better the guest mood, the more loyal the guests will be according to Hilton. The training game is based on a virtually recreated Hilton Garden Inn hotel and uses 3D graphics. Read more
