Archos Offers New Archos 7 and Archos 8 Android Tablets

Archos has unveiled a pair of new tablets that both run the Android OS. With Android as the OS for the devices, the user can access the wide range of Android applications. Archos is trying to bridge a gap between a smartphone and the desktop PC with the devices that are designed to provide web access and multimedia access.
Both tablets use ARM 9 processors running at 600MHz. A new line of tablets with faster ARM Cortex processors up to 1GHz will launch this summer with screens form 3-inches to 10-inches. Both the tablets unveiled today allow the user to surf the web, email, visit social networks, and read news along with lots more. Read more

SD Camera Brace Works for DSLRs and Video Cameras

The problem I always have when I am trying to shoot video or take pictures with my DSLR is that I tend to move too much and my images are blurry. This is especially true when I am shooting pics with a telephoto lens using my Nikon D80. A new product from Film Maker Accessories promises to help people like me have a more steady hold on their camera for clearer pictures.
The device is called the Habbycam SD Camera Brace and is a cinematic camera support system to give pro results to us normal folk. The brace can be connected to a wide range of video cameras and DSLRs thanks to a universal camera support plate. The height and distance from the viewfinder or video monitor is adjustable. Read more

Gallup, the leading national poll-taking organization, has announced the availability of a new iPhone app that gives users immediate access to its latest poll data, all with a streamlined and easy-to-use interface. It is a free download.
Gallup updates all of its numbers on a daily basis at 1 PM. Some of the polls it provides look at things like Obama's job approval, consumer spending, consumer confidence and economic outlook, and what people's mood and health are.

Casio Unveils EX-S7 and EX-Z35 Cameras at PMA 2010

Casio unveiled a couple of new digital cameras in its Exilim range at PMA 2010. The new cameras include the EX-S7 and the EX-Z35. Both of the cameras have a slew of automated features and both are slim and easy to use cameras.
Both feature the Exilim Engine 5.0 system for low power consumption and better image quality. The EX-S7 has a 12.1MP image sensor with 3X optical zoom. The rear LCD is a 2.7-inch unit and the camera can record 720p HD video. The camera is able to store images to SD and SDHC memory cards. Read more

Your iPod May Have Been Made By A 15-Year-Old

A routine audit of Apple's contractors across the world have found three facilities that employed underage workers, a practice that the electronics company strictly does not condone. It also found over a dozen other violations of its policies.
Apple posted the report to its Web site. In total, it discovered that 11 employees were hired at its overseas partners were under their country's respective legal working age. However, at the time the audit was conducted, all 11 had either become old enough to legally work, or were no longer hired.

Palm Launches WebOS 1.4

Following a lot of buzz from the Palm Pixi and Palm Pre, the mobile device specialist has released the newest version of its operating system. WebOS 1.4 adds the ability to capture and edit video on the go, and push it directly to social media sites.
The feature is nothing new to smartphone owners, as other operating systems like Android have had one-touch video sharing for a while. Other updates include being able to call someone from their contact page on the messaging app, being able to call a number directly from a Web site or e-mail, and forwarding texts to an e-mail address. On all of these updates, it is simply a move to catch up with the competitors.

Get Your GPS Camera From Casio In October For $400

Casio's GPS-enabled EX-10HG will be moving from concept to retail when it launches this October, according to a report from Photography Bay.
Casio lifted the curtain on its EX-10HG camera at last month's CES show. Introduced as a concept camera, it contains a built-in GPS camera that can do more than your typical geotagging camera. It comes fully equipped with Google Maps and pinpointed locations that can be viewed directly on the LCD screen.

PMA 2010: Sigma Reveals DP2s

Today professional camera and accessory company Sigma lifted the veil on its DDP2s device. Coming less than one year after the introduction of the DP2, the DP2s reportedly has an improved auto-focus sensor and an upgrade to its RAW image processing.
The DP2s has ISO sensitivity up to 3200, and the 2.5-inch LCD allows users to preview their shots. Continuous shooting takes snapshots at three frames per second, and QVGA video recording captures live action at 320x240 resolution at 30 frames-per-second.

SanDisk Announces Highest Capacity SD Card Ever

Flash memory giant SanDisk announced this morning that it has created its highest capacity SD (secure digital) card ever: one that contains 64GB of storage.
The card is classified under the newest speed rating, a class 4 designation. The official name for the media type is SDXC. Not all devices will accept such a high-capacity card, which is why it has a different designation.

GE Adds Five To 'Smart Series' Of Cameras at PMA 2010

At the PMA 2010 show today, GE showcased five cameras that it will be adding to its line of "Smart Series" cameras, the company's low-end line of devices for amateur photographers. Three were unveiled for the first time, while the other two first were revealed earlier this year.
The J1455 has 14.2 megapixels and a 5X optical zoom. It also features image stabilization. The device will be available in black, silver, red, and "other colors," according to GE, when it comes out in the second quarter of 2010. The SRP is around $130.
