Last Week's Highlights: CeBIT 2009, New Apple Macs and Winki

CeBIT 2009
did not bring that many highlight besides several interesting Asus
announcements. Asus unveiled the upcoming
Asus Eee PC 1008HA,
which looks pretty nice and will make your current netbook look very old.
Asus also showed the coolest looking motherboard at the CeBIT dubbed
Asus Marine Cool
and a dual screen
notebook concept.
MSI announced Winki,
but left more question marks than information with this new Linux based
Internet device.
Apple made almost more waves this week than CeBIT with announcement of the
new 2009 iMac,
Mac mini and
Mac Pro.

The CES is now ancient history and the reality in the technology world
has hit home hard this week with companies like
Apple,
Microsoft and
Google publishing
their earnings from the Holiday Sales Quarter.
Some companies still managed to make money in these tough times. Apple and
Google did well, Microsoft didn't do so well and let go about 5,000 employees. Sony
also warned everyone about a
big loss for last year.

and is keeping his
BlackBerry for real.

Weekly Recap: CES Top 10 and CES Top 5 Disappointments

CES 2009 is over and we have been publishing several reports this week
about what we have learned from CES 2009. Shane who was at the show to
report for I4U News came back disappointed and calls
CES 2009 a Bust.
There have not been that many highlights of CES 2009 but we still have been
able to create our Top
10 CES 2009 Products list as well as the
Top 5 Losers of CES 2009.
In other news this week Nintendo has hit record sales of the
Wii and DS in 2008
and you can watch
Youtube videos in full screen now on the PS3 and the Wii.

The Holiday Shopping Season is over and we go
straight into the exciting CES and Macworld "Season". CES News is
already flowing in a big way wetting our appetite for new gadgets and
innovations. LG for instance will show a
480Hz HDTV and a
3G HSDPA touchscreen
wristphone.
Touchscreen Netbooks will rise at CES, and we also came up with
these CES 2009
predictions.
Microsoft will hail Windows 7 at their traditional
CES keynote. See

I4U Weekly Top 10: Storm, iKit, Aura and Bond Vaio TT

Two BlackBerry phones are currently getting a lot of interest in the U.S.
The BlackBerry Bold
will launch on AT&T on October 27th and the touchscreen
Storm is rumored to
launch mid-November.
For Bond fans the Sony
VAIO TT Bond edition shipped this week. The
VAIO TT is also a
hot sub-notebook without the Bond.
Motorola surprised this week with a $2,000 Luxury phone dubbed
Aura sporting a
round display. And last but not least the first
Google Android phone
started to ship this week.

Weekly Top 10: New MacBooks, Eee Top, Krave, Blu-ray TV

As rumors indicated Apple introduced new
Apple MacBook and
MacBook Pro
notebooks this week. Apple highlights the
new unibody aluminum design,
making the new MacBooks more robust and thinner at the same time. The
Apple notebooks stay expensive, only an updated white plastic MacBook is
now available
at under $1,000.
Elmo Live
started to ship this week and got
reviewed. The new
Elmo is already hard to find for the normal retail price over two month
before the Christmas Holidays.
The new Sony PSP-3000
also started to ship this week - the Holiday Shopping Season slowly draws
nearer.
