Sony alpha DSLR-A850 Review
Sony unveiled the Sony alpha DSLR-A850 Full-Frame SLR Camera last month. Our review partner Digital Trends already got their hands on one and published a review. The Sony alpha A850 scored an Editors' Choice Award, read this review to find out why.
Quote from the review: "Even in this era of rapidly plunging HDTV, Blu-ray disc player and game console prices, some devices remain very expensive. Case in point: full-frame DSLRs. These cameras use sensors that are the same size as a frame of 35mm film, so photo quality is outstanding, but you’ll pay for this performance.

Canon celebrates 50 years of SLR Cameras
Canon celebrates 50 years of single-lens reflex camera sales. The company sold the first SLR camera back in 1959.
The production of Canon SLR cameras has already surpassed the 50-million unit mark since then.
The history of Canon 35 mm single-lens reflex cameras began in May 1959 with the launch of the Canon Flex, which was followed by models reflecting Canon's reliable technologies and innovativeness. In 1971 the company introduced the F-1, its first professional model; in 1976 the AE-1, the world's first SLR camera to feature a built-in CPU; and in 1986 the T90, the top-of-the-line model of the T series lineup.

Sony alpha DSLR-A900 Review
Our review partner Digital Trends published a review of the Sony alpha DSLR-A900 camera.
Quote from the review: "D-SLRs are definitely where the action is in digital photography. Sales of compact point-and-shoots may have hit a wall in this recession, but digital single-lens reflex cameras continue to do well as prices have come down and quality has gone up. The new full-frame Sony alpha DSLR-A900 is a great, albeit relatively expensive example when compared to the typical D-SLR with smaller APS-C sized sensors. This beefy camera has a 24.6-megapixel full-frame imaging device, and sells for "only" $2,999. The new Nikon D3X also has a similarly-sized sensor (made by Sony) and it costs a cool $7,999! Yeow! The D3X is an incredibly featured camera, obviously designed for pros whereas the A900 is for well-heeled enthusiasts-but not investors in Bernie Madoff's funds. The closest current camera in terms of price and resolution is the Canon EOS 5D Mark II, a 21.1MP full-frame edition for $2,699, a model we'll be reviewing in the weeks ahead.

Nikon D90 DSLR Review
Our review partner Digital Trends tested the new Nikon D90 DSLR. The Nikon D90 is already one of our Top 100 Holiday Gadget Gift Tips. This review confirms this choice.
Quote from the review: "Who would've thought? Nikon, a decidedly still image capture company, was the first to design a D-SLR that takes high-definition video. Until now, no D-SLR could capture video of any type unlike point-and-shoot digicams which have taken clips for years. This breakthrough is pretty startling. One would've thought Sony or Panasonic-true video outfits-would have blazed this trail but it was venerable Nikon of 35mm film fame.
